Hello, and welcome to my blog. I find it incredibly difficult to talk about myself, so this should be interesting…
I’m Peyton Leyendecker (but you probably knew that already). My twin, Hunter, and I were born 3 months premature, which may explain why neither of us gain much weight despite eating lots and exercising little. We have both lived in Colorado for our whole lives.
During the summer and breaks, you will probably find me working, laying in my bed watching Netflix or YouTube, listening to music (I would listen to music all the time if I could), and/or hanging out with my friends. During the school year, you will probably find me working, laying in bed, listening to music, procrastinating studying, and/or hanging out with my friends… yeah… so not much changes when the school year comes around except for increased stress and anxiety…
Although I don’t read for fun all that often, my dad recently made me read a book called “We Were Liars” that I thoroughly enjoyed. The book focuses on self-acceptance, family morals, and the consequences of one’s mistakes. It is centered on the wealthy, seemingly perfect Sinclair family, who spend every summer gathered on their private island. However, not every summer is the same—when something happens to Cadence during the summer of her fifteenth year, the four “Liars” (Cadence, Johnny, Gat and Mirren) re-emerge two years later to prompt Cadence to remember the incident. The book is extremely enticing and has a huge twist ending, which I hated and loved. I highly recommend.
As some of you know, I am a huge science nerd. I love to solve problems, especially those related to medicine, which is why I plan on studying biomedical engineering in college. I participated in the science fair freshman and sophomore year, where I developed an antibacterial surgical adhesive using Manuka honey (#manukahoneyfixeseverything). I did rather well in these competitions, especially sophomore year, and ended up going to the International Science and Engineering Fair, where I snagged 2nd place in the Microbiology category (it’s by far my proudest accomplishment).
Anyways, that’s all I’m going to say for now. See you in school!

I will have to check out this book. I love new recommendations, especially suspenseful novels! Maybe you can do something “science-y” for your first semester Rhetoric project!
